Emina won her first summer tour title

Emina Honic can tick off yet another milestone in her career. In Beddingestrand, the 15-year-old claimed her first title on the summer tour when she defeated Sonja Wedenski of Djursholms TK 7-6, 2-6, 7-5 in the final of the Beddingespelen summer tour. 

The finalists faced each other in their second consecutive final on the summer tour. In Åhus, Sonja Wedenski claimed the title, but in Beddingestrand it was Emina Honic who emerged victorious after a very closely fought and well-played final.  

- “I fought hard and gave it my all on every single shot. We both played well and it came down to the smallest of margins. It could have ended differently, but today I won and it feels brilliant,” said Emina Honic after claiming her first summer tour title.

Eric Aharen Moonga, of Lidingö TK, claimed his second consecutive title in the men’s singles at the Beddingespelen. In the final, he defeated Filip Stidell, of Påvelunds TBK, 6-1, 6-1. 

- "It was one of those days when everything just clicked," he says. 

 And the Lidingö player is aiming for a comeback next year. 

- It’s really lovely to be here, so I’ll have to try and win a third title.
